Our History
Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated is a professional organization catering to registered professional nurses and student nurses of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds, male and female. The organization was established on October 16, 1932, by Mrs. Aliene C. Ewell and 11 other dedicated registered nurses. We achieved incorporation and 501©(3) status on September 21, 2021, and we are dedicated to community service, mentorship, scholarship, promoting healthy lifestyles, health education, and professional development. We have obtained grants to offer healthcare education to underserved populations and to promote maternal health and breastfeeding advocacy in our community, with Nurse Nourish as our flagship community service initiative.
Since our establishment, Iota Eta Eta, Inc. has granted six nursing scholarships to nursing students from Erie and Niagara Counties, based on their academic performance, community service involvement, and essay quality. Awarding scholarships to deserving nursing students aligns with our core values of elevating the nursing field, generating interest in nursing, and delivering service.
